Tips for clear and concise business communication



 Proceed with your main point. At all times begin your writing with your main point. Then elaborate if required. For example if you were required to email someone in one or two sentences, it wouldn't be possible. To be concise in this matter, it is important to incorporate this tip. Write short and simple sentence. Read carefully what you write if it does not make sense then rewrite until it is clear. Always use spell check but do not over use. Spell check always give word for name.For example if actual name is Guffey but it give guffaw. So use spell check carefully.

How to be more concise in speaking


Expand your vocabulary
This can only be done by using dictionary. Use different words for something this make more interest and color in your speech.
Use correct grammar
Use correct grammer.Use the following words in their proper place:
I
Me
His
He
Not
No
Him
Always say “as I said” never “like I said
Try to work on being more concise
Do not talk more. Sometime it can make some people shut down. Since the discussion then becomes dull and pointless if the listener is not captivated and attracted to your discussion.
Here are some tips for being concise:
·         Keep sentences short.
·         The self-discipline to do with that will aid you in making your point quickly.

How to be more concise in speaking


Think before you speak
You can eliminate verbal pause when you start thinking before speaking it also helps you to prevent from saying which is not important. .Before saying anything always revises the words. .When you revise, you can add proper words and eliminate unimportant worlds  such as “like” or “they” and substitute  these words with suitable world.
 Use real words
Only use that words that affects others. Use yes instead of yup or yeah, use hello instead of hi.
Have patience
The way you convey yourself and your speech takes great time and effort.

How to be more concise in speaking



KNOW YOUR SUBJECT

First of all know your subject and then speak about the subject. Speak on matters where you are able to bring more clarity to others. Add something interesting to the discussion of others. While speaking you should have the desire to add something in the discussion. And your voice should be heard.
Eliminate verbal pauses

Do not pause your speaking by saying um, s, like, etc. use nonverbal pauses rather than these world because these words affect the flow of a sentence and nonverbal pause confirms your control over what is being said.

Eliminating Clichés and Euphemisms



Clichés and euphemisms are basically metaphors and similes. These are types of phrases that should not be utilized while writing concisely. These are types of speech you should avoid using. Examples of this type of speech would be the following:
Ø  Cute as a kitten
Ø  Clear like mud
Ø  Strong like an ox
Ø  Cool as ice
Ø  Sweet as sugar
Ø  Light as a feather
Ø  Time is a thief
Ø  Life is a struggle
Ø  He behaves like a pig

If people do not understand the meaning of Cliches, don't you think that this make content to be clear.

Phrases You Can Omit



These are words that add nothing to a sentence. These words don’t make the sentence interesting, enticing, and attracting. The following are examples of these phrases.




  • As far as I am concerned, global warming should be taken more seriously.
  •  As far as I am concerned, Global warming should be taken more seriously.
  • In the event that if enough people begin to strike, the matter will be taken care of.
  • In the event that if enough people begin to strike, the matter will be taken care of.
  •  Some people have a tendency to brag or showoff.
  •  Some people have a tendency tend to brag or showoff.


Other phrases that fall under this criterion are the following:

Ø  Manner
Ø  It seems that
Ø  In the process of

Ø  In the final analysis

Omit Gratuitous Intensifiers and Qualifiers


Do not use the words really, very, quite, extremely, severely when they are not necessary. We cannot banish these worlds from our vocabulary, but they will be used to best effect when used sparingly. For examples:
  • The quiz was really difficult for me to complete.
  • The water in the lake was extremely beautiful.
