What is Concise?

Concise means something brief in form but comprehensive in scope. It refers to speech or writing that uses very few words to say more.It is brief in form but covers all the important information regarding the topic. The synonyms used for concise are: brief, in a nutshell, lean, short and sweet, summary,to the point, compact, and curt etc. Concise communication and writing makes us more effective and efficient. A person who is concise while writing and speaking definitely effects others.

Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.

  1. Being consise in the business world is very important. Unecessary words, or sentences should be minimized. Getting to the point s hard for alot of people I would say due to the fact were used to having everyone know the story from detail to detail. I like the picture cartoon as it depicts the "consise" essense of news which it being horrible. I found that very funny.

  2. No one likes to read long letters, e-mails because people do not have time so be concise in writing and speaking. It will save your and other's time.
